I was sitting today, reflecting on why some people are drawn to healing and energy work while others aren’t. Why is it that some dive into this world and experience profound shifts in their daily lives, while others remain indifferent? Then, like a bolt of lightning, it hit me: those who aren’t drawn to healing are more often that not more focused on external gratification and they don’t even realise it. Their life experience is shaped by what they possess, the tangible “things” they can accumulate in the world, they are often using this accumulation to feel things that they can never truly feel by living in the way they do. They may not even realize they’re not truly content, peaceful, or happy within.
I know this intimately because I used to live like this for quite some time. My life was a pursuit of achievements, status, and an “easy” life devoid of conflict or drama (I mistakenly assumed, this was peace). But in hindsight, I wasn’t living in alignment with my truth. I silenced the whispers of my gut, the gentle nudges telling me something was off. I buried those suppressed feelings beneath a pile of certificates, qualifications, and accolades. I was perpetually doing more because I didn’t feel worthy, no matter how many accomplishments I collected.
Externally, I appeared ambitious and disciplined—someone doing all the “right” things. I expected others to respect me, yet inside, I was yearning for respect and acceptance that I couldn’t give myself. That endless hustle for external validation led me down a path of stress, misalignment, and incongruence. I was constantly in motion, stuck in a hamster wheel of my own making, never slowing down. It was a prison I built for myself.
The Turning Point: Healing for Alignment, Not Perfection
Years of healing work followed. I took on every modality and qualification, thinking that healing was another box to check, another thing to master. But healing isn’t about perfection. It’s not a path of accumulating tools and techniques to fix a broken self; it’s about stripping away the layers of conditioning, external pressures, and false identities to uncover the truth that’s always been there.
Through this process, I realized that all the striving, all the qualifications, weren’t bringing me the peace and happiness I sought. The real breakthrough came when I delayered, decluttered, and returned to the only thing that brings lasting peace: living in my truth.
So, what’s the point of healing work? It’s exactly this:
To reach the point where you understand what’s been driving you—why you’ve been showing up in certain ways, why you’ve been chasing external validation, why you’ve been avoiding your inner knowing—and then, to crack open that protective shell and allow your authentic self to shine. When this happens, a beautiful light is revealed, and everything in your life starts to shift.
Practical Examples of Transformation Through Healing
In real, daily life, this healing process looks like no longer feeling obligated to play a certain role or do certain things just because it’s what you’ve always done or because you think it’s what others expect. For example, many of my clients enter a deep healing process and begin questioning long-standing patterns—like always saying yes to social obligations or staying in a high-stress job because it’s what they think they “should” do. When they begin to understand that these choices were rooted in fear or a desire for acceptance, they gradually give themselves permission to step away.
One client had been stuck in a corporate role for years, feeling drained and disillusioned. On the surface, she had everything—status, income, respect. But through our work, she realized she was deeply misaligned with her truth. Her work didn’t fulfill her on a soul level. She had chosen this path because she believed it was the “right” way to be successful. Once she connected with her inner truth, she transitioned out of her job and into a role that lit her up, and opportunities began flowing her way. She didn’t have to hustle; things naturally aligned because she was in integrity with herself.
Another example: One client had always been the “fixer” in her family, the person everyone turned to when things went wrong. But this role, although it gave her a sense of importance, also caused her tremendous stress and anxiety. Through healing, she was able to see that this was a role she unconsciously took on to feel needed and loved. By addressing the root of this pattern, she began setting healthy boundaries and stopped overextending herself. This freed up energy, and, unexpectedly, she started a creative project that turned into a successful business, something she never would have had space for if she hadn’t done the inner work.
(These two client experiences are also a mirror for how I lived for many years)
The Shift from External Validation to Internal Alignment
When you start to live in alignment with your truth, you no longer feel the need to settle or compromise your core values. Opportunities and people flow into your life that resonate with your deeper self. You stop chasing and start attracting. And perhaps most importantly, your life becomes purpose-driven rather than ambition-driven. There’s a sense of flow, ease, and connection to something greater than yourself, which takes away the frantic energy of “efforting” to make things happen.
For example, many high-performing women I work with have built their lives on ambition, always reaching for the next achievement. But once they align with their truth, they find that their purpose and mission naturally replace the old ambition. They may still work hard, but it no longer feels like a never-ending grind. They are guided by an inner compass that directs their energy where it’s most potent. This focus makes their actions more impactful, with less struggle and resistance.
Healing Isn’t Easy, But It’s Worth It
The journey of healing isn’t always easy. It requires courage, commitment, vulnerability, and a willingness to face parts of yourself that you’ve been avoiding for years. But the reward is the ability to live in integrity with who you really are, free from the baggage of old conditioning, societal expectations, and self-imposed limitations.
In the containers I create for my clients, the intention is always to guide them back to this state of truth, where they are unencumbered by the weight of their past or the pressures of the present. The process can be fast, but it demands that the client show up fully—ready to face their fears, to confront their truths, and to take radical responsibility for their life. My role is to provide the tools and the guidance to navigate this journey, to illuminate the dark spots so they can move forward in alignment with their deepest desires and values.
Final Thoughts
Healing work isn’t about fixing yourself—it’s about remembering who you are beneath the layers of conditioning and fear. It’s about aligning with your truth, so you can live a life of purpose, peace, and fulfillment. When you do this, your energy flows in one direction, with potency and ease. No more spinning your wheels, no more trying to be something you’re not.
Healing is about getting off the hamster wheel and into a place where your life is an authentic expression of your soul. From this place of alignment, the universe conspires in your favor, and everything flows effortlessly toward your highest good.
This is the point of healing and energy work: to reclaim your truth and live in alignment with it, so that you can experience the full depth of peace, joy, and freedom available to you.
